About Me

Why hello!

I'm assuming, since you made your way to this page, that you actually care about the face behind this blog. I'm not even remotely sure why, but I will humor you. *pat pat*

I'm not terribly photogenic, so you're going to have to deal with the fact that this is one of the only semi-decent pictures of me that exists.

In case you actually care about more than just my picture, I'll tell you a bit about myself and then be on my merry way. The name's Danielle. I'm 23, and just recently graduated from college with my BA in English. Can I find a job? Hell no. And the first person who makes a crack about English majors working at Starbucks can just see themselves out. I've been struggling to find a job in the publishing sector - specifically in editing - and have thus far been unsuccessful. But I have picked up freelance editing on the side, so if you need anything edited (especially novels) and are willing to pay, feel free to contact me! I'll also be attending graduate school for an MA in Publishing come fall.

I was born in Western New York (the state, not the city), and still reside there. I will continue to do so until fate deems it time for me to vamoose (read, I find a job). Where I live, cows out-populate people. I think that is all the introspective you need on my hometown. But in case that wasn't enough, let me put it this way - there are two Starbucks in the whole county. You did not misread that.

I have loved literature all my life. I can't remember a time when books weren't an integral part of my existence. As soon as I learned to read, I finished off every book in the house. And since my parents aren't the intellectual type, there weren't a lot. So I read whatever I could - street signs, instruction manuals, subtitles on the TV. My parents finally got the hint and started taking me to libraries and buying me books. When I was six, I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the first time. I think that's what really sold me. Harry Potter was my world growing up.

Books and I are tight. By the time I left elementary school I was already known as the weird book girl, had a perfect 800 on the New York State English Language Arts exam under my belt, and knew that I would never be able to work at a job that didn't involve literature. When I graduated high school, the only superlative I received was Bookworm. Seeing any patterns here?

My love of literature and books and words is vast. Books have helped me through many dark periods in my life, and I can only hope to return the favor by nurturing them on their way to publication.

My name is Danielle, I'm a book lover, and you're probably tired of hearing me talk. So I'll leave.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do writing it!

Cheers!

Danielle
